Watch Description

This was my great-grandfather's watch and was passed on to me last year.  The band is obviously not the original and needs replaced.  I do not know if the movement is original to the watch or a replacement (but I have no reason to believe it was replaced).  I'm thinking it's a Time King based on photos I've seen from other years.  I really don't care about the value of this watch, but I would like to invest in getting it restored.

We still don't have any advert proof of the 'Time King' only this one that shows a very similar watch case called the "Sponsor"

I'm tentative Time King based on the others we have in the database, and would really like to find an advert to confirm it.

Welcome GLOCK22er to myBulova. I like your Bulova a lot. This is a model we don't see very often so it's fun to see yours. I'm a huge fan of heirloom watches and think it very special for you to have this one from your grandfather, congratulations! In terms of restoration I assume you mean you'd like to have it serviced and have a new strap installed so you can wear and enjoy it. Depending on what country you live in we might be able to recommend someone.

Regarding the ID, I'm inclined to Time King as well. We say we're tentative when we can't definitively ID a watch by and advert. Once we publish your watch with a name you'll see the check mark rating system we use - Tentative means we vote two checks instead of three. My suggestion is based on the different dial between your watch and the Sponsor and Broadcaster models we have.

Thanks gentlemen!

In terms of a "restoration", the case has a few dings I'd like smoothed out, that strap needs replaced (badly!), and the movement could use some a touch of love (it still works, but runs slow).

Any recomendations for this kind of service are appreciated.  Anything close to Atlanta, GA would be preferable, but I'm open to any reputable specialist that can do this thing justice.

I appreciate the information.  Long term goals with this watch include the cleaning up and I'd also like to find an appropraite case for it.  I'd love to wear it for special events out with my wife!

Thank you again!
