Watch Description

My Saturday morning project today was finishing this one. I finally got a new set of hands for it after 6 weeks of effort. The movement actually has a "circle" and a "triangle" date code. I started out with this non-running wall flower.

And after a little love and attention it blossomed into this and is running nicely now.

I just love a story with a happy ending. :)

Yeah, I've come around to Norman as well. that little flair of the case at the lugs makes a world of difference. Good find on the advert Bob.

Revisiting this watch as I don't believe it is a Norman.

If we based the ID on the above mentioned advert, then I think we got it wrong. The engraved sides look to be continuous from top to bottom with no step at the ends.

I've recently found a brand new advert for the Bulova Paratrooper. The case design looks the same except for the engraved bezel.

Not sure it is one, but I'm more certain that it's not a match for the Norman.

While I agree that the Norman ID might be questionable, I think the Paratrooper (being unengraved) is also questionable.

I don't think this one is related to Paratrooper, which is unengraved rose gold 15 jewel. Subject watch is engraved, yellow and 17 jewel. Looking at the enlarged detail from Norman ad, It appears to show the engraving transition from case side to lug on the upper left lug. Personally I suspect artistic license in the ad. For what it's worth, here is another we ID'ed as Norman that came to me on the original band as seen in the ad.
