I think a vintage ad always goes nice with a watch present as nicely as this!

Sweet... thanks Admin!  Yes this one really has been kept well.

Do you recall seeing that protective flap on the bottom of the movement much before?  First time I've seen something like that intact.

No, a first for me on a Bulova movement. I didn't even notice it until just then.

As this is just on the sleeve could it be that it was made by ETA rather than Bulova? (I think this is an ETA movement isn't it). Not seen anything like that before. Only balance protectors on movements i have come across are on some Longines

ETA 1000 until 1948, has a Breguet hairspring and also came in 21J according to references.

Neat gizmo.

I'm new to the site.  I've been a Vintage Bulova "Fanatic" since being a teenager.  Got my 1st Vintage Bulova about  6 years ago.  I now have over 20 of the most Gorgeous Bulovas I never thought I'd own.  So yes , welcome to your "addiction" LOL  I had to stop for a few years, now finding this site.................$$$$

BTW,, Plainsmen from what I've seen you have quite a collection......

Just acquired one my self but only today was I able to identify it as a senator thanks to this site. I have finally figured out how to photograph my watches to put them on the site and will do so by Wednesday hopefully. My be some one will be able to identify some of the ones I don't know yet and one I think is a frankenbully. You have a beautiful watch and should be very proud of it.
