Watch Description

Watch belonged to my deceased father, who I never saw wearing anything but watches of less prestige: Timex, Seiko. I suspect this Bulova was issued to him by the military, which he joined in the summer of 1946. He was not the sort of person to have a watch tuned up or repaired, so I think it likely the watch in its original condition, and it still runs. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find corresponding wrist straps. To anyone who can confirm my identification of the watch as 1945 military issue or who wishes to buy it, I will be very grateful.

Nice one. Based on case s/n (starts with a 6) your watch is a

1946 American Clipper.

This model was produced for the general public after WWII with a military look.

It should have a brown leather strap.

1946 Bulova American Clipper is a good match. We have several of this model in the dB, HERE'S Jerin's.

Nice advert match Bob. Agree with a 1946 Bulova American Clipper. Watch has a unique dial.

I apologize for initially identifying the watch as a 1945, not a 1946, item. I believe I was following year-identification instructions, which it appears I interpreted in error, as those with expertise have identified the watch as a 1946 Clipper. I realized this error too late to edit the main description. Again, regrets, especially to anyone looking for 1945 items.
