Jeez, what the hell had happened to that case!

GJ

a Dog buried it?

Actually I have no idea, under all the crud was a healthy layer of tarnish, under the tarnish a remarkable scratch and wear free Case. Movement is gummy but spotless, Dial unscathed, which is odd.

Caseback shows only one service date, apparantly this Watch had been lost and forgotton for quite some time.

Mark,

WOW! Nice "RESTORE" :-)

I'm STILL wondering if this is a Broker, or the Commodore? I thought it was the Broker, and Shawn labeled it a Commodore?? Does anyone have an AD for either, YET?!?

Scott,

One of the easier ones to be honest, although it's not finished. - Was listed as a 'COMMODORE' then noticed Gary's 'BROKER'.

Will investigate further.

The reason i believe it is the broker and not the commodore is because the below advert shows the commodore, although similar the lugs are different...by deduction that leaves this as the Broker does it not?

There must be an advert somewhere as these models aren't rare rare...

Discussed here:

A process of elimination would name this Model the 'BROKER' but as always an ad confirming the ID would be nice.

admin,

If I recall the discussion 'DIRECTOR' also had a slightly shorter Case dimension (?)

Just been given one of these. No stem, no discernible wear to bezel, no crystal, dial is salmon coloured but  in need of restoration, hour and minute hands need same, second hand missing and inner case back rusty. Movement is 8AE 17 jewels not workingand missing 2-3 barrel bar screws, caseback no. is 3188894 and stamped inside"Bulova 10K rolled gold plate bezel, sterling base, stainless back,NEW YORK." Just looked at date marks, an X and an anchor shape, 1942-43?
