A Pink GF case, with case back marked 'Bulova Quality' but the serial number scratched away and unreadable. No interior marks to identify the casemaker, just a service mark. 17j 7AN in good condition, I will update this and others as the restoration is completed. It's not clear in the pics, but the dial is copper coloured and works well with the pink gold case. It was re-lumed at some point, and not very well. Crown appears original as it is exactly like the case.
I think my best guess on this one, having re-visited it through it's service, is that it is either a dial variant of the Lincoln, or something else entirely. Either way, for a Lincoln, the hands are incorrect as an ad (Lisa's) in 1946 for the Lincoln still shows the same hands as our '42s. Again, the dial appears to be unsupported so far.
We've discussed this many times elsewhere, but it is worth mentioning again that back in the day, the customer may have had an issue with water incursion or damage, and the watchmaker was simply tasked with 'making it work again', with no eye to the watch as a collectible.
