Watch Description

You will see that the dial is not original, it has been redone - this was on the recommendation of a Manhattan jeweler in the 1980s. I was in my 20s and stupid, and agreed. However, the dial is the same as it looked before - no numbers, just 3 stones for 3, 9, 12 - rubies? From the photos and advertisements on your site, it looks like a 1945 Patriot, but again, with the gemstones and not numbers. I thought it was the most beautiful watch I had ever seen when I bought it in the early 1980s.

The case material is pink gold, 14k filled.

Neat watch, welcome to mybulova. I don't believe this is a Patriot, it most resembles a Conrad, which had swiveling lugs. Here is another dated 1945. Do the lugs on your watch move? The lug shape is wrong to be a Conrad and at this point, I don't find a match with or without a jeweled or "blinged" face. I suspect it might be a Conrad that has had a jeweler replacement of the lug assemblies  and jewels added to face, but at this point that's a guess. There is always the possibility it's one we have never encountered but that's unlikely. Still looking.

I do like it, it's a handsome watch.

Thank you for your comments! Yes, the lugs do move, although they have a slightly different shape than what I have seen for a Conrad. I guessed Patriot based on the image of the dial from the mybulova.com site in a Canadian ad (http://www.mybulova.com/vintage-bulova-watch-ads?page=4#). But you're right, the Patriot has fixed lugs....

This is a gorgeous watch, congrats.  Anything with rose gold and rubies catches my eye especially.  Not finding a match.  Unknown for now.

I just don't see anything to match this fellow too. I suppose the dial might be a customization but I just can't say. 1945 Bulova Unknown

Getting close.....looks to be the same case, lugs, hands and dial design. All is correct except for the diamonds.

Bulova Beau Brummell diamond watch

and then there is the Bulova Lord Springfield....again diamonds and a sold gold case (same price as the above Beau Brummel)....still no match

I also suspect that the dial is original and has three 'simulated' rubies.
