Watch Description

This is a ladies Bulova watch. It's 14k gold, with two tiny diamonds. This belonged to my grandmother, it was then given to my mother, and recently it has been passed down to me. I'm unsure of the date, because the triangle symbol seems to correspond with 1926, 1935, and 1945. I would love to know the correct manufactures date and model information. It would also be nice to see the original ad for this particular watch.

Hi Yoshi, very nice heirloom you have. The 5AB movement was made between 1936 to 1947. So if yours has a triangle symbol on it, that would narrow it down to 1945. It looks like you need a crown for it. The crown for your watch is Bulova part # 101. That's all the information I have so far.

Hello yoshi, welcome to myBulova. I am a big fan of heirloom watches, I think you are most fortunate to have this memento of your grandmother. It seems to me that the watch would be from the 1940's. Although I've looked several times over the last couple days, I haven't found anything to match it yet.

Unknown for now. ( but still looking.....)

Theese solid gold ladies are fun and challanging to ID.
I see charactoristics of other model series, however for most of those, when I look at solid gold examples for which we have information, they have unique model names other than the series used for the plate/fill models.
I'm at unknown now too.

Gents, I gave up trying to ID solid gold ladies models. There is just not enough data. I currently have 9 ladies gold and diamond watches listed but none with ID's as I wasted too much time looking.

The Baltimore Sun (Baltimore, Maryland) · 4 Feb 1945, Sun

Looks like another successful ad match but no name. Only the ad is white gold vs yellow gold for the subject watch,   Double UGH!!

It is always great to have an ad even if it doesn't have a name.  Nice work Jim.
