Hi all
I would appreciate help in trying to identify this watch. I have look through the adverts but can't seem to find a match.
The watch is 26mm dia. excluding lugs and crown. The bezel is 10k rolled gold plated and the back case is stainless steel. the inside of the case is marked Bulova New York.
The outside is marked with the serial number 6612792 and the name Bulova.
The movement is a 15J 10BC, and is stamped with a square
We have seen this one numerous times. There are several in the database. Here's another 1946 example.
I've heard this one called the Pan Am, but I think it was only because Gruen had a similar watch named such.
Shawn had commented he thought this was a boy's watch due to case size, but kinda complex for a "first watch" or boy's watch.
Unknown for now.
It does seem strange that bulova didn't advertise this model as it has such a striking dial.
I have swapped the bracelet for brown leather one that matches the colour of the dial. It looks much better now ,lwill upload a new pic shortly.
I have put the second hand back on. It was loose and lying inside the face when l bought thewatch . Since then l have timed the watch against the computer and its keeping time within 3 mins over 24hrs. Not a bad buy for $15 l think.
