Watch is in 14k Rose gold with a bronze face. I believe it to be an 1950 Squadron. Not sure what the "BXW" marking is on the movement. No date marking other than both a 46 and a 51? Watch is in very good condition, runs smoothly and keeps good time. Was bought on eBay on the 01/12/2015 for $US 52.
Hi, the BXW is the Swiss export code for Bulova. All movements from Switzerland exported have an import/export code. On Bulovas, it is always found on the balance cock.
Your watch datea from 1946, the '46' on the movement and the case serial no. begins with 6.
The 51 is probably the manufacturer's ebauche calibre.
Nice Squadron 'B'.

In reply to Bobbee I thought the BXW was by William Smith

Bobbee I thought the BXW was the Swiss to USA import code, not required by Swiss Export but required by USA to import a Swiss? ...but I've been wrong before.
Nice 1946 Squadron "B"

That's what I was trying (badly!) to convey...
All movements exported from Switzerland, regardless of manufacturer or buyer, had to have import codes in the US.
Here is a list of all/most known codes.
Hi Gary, looks like you've got a growing Bulova collection. I warn you, Bulovitis is incurable but not luckily, not fatal. Welcome to the ward, the doctors are always in.
I agree that this one is a '46 Squadron B, a nice looking example too. I'm wondering, looking at your comments above, how it is that you bought it next Monday? I might need a dose of that! Can you please update the date in the record?
Being from Australia, I stated the date the correct and logical way to state a date, the day, then the month and then the year.
Just becasue the US does it differently, month, day and year ( how silly is that ?) does not make it correct.
Maybe the US needs to catch up with the rest of the world?
Not US bashing ( have spent over 4 months over the years travelling around the US ) but would make is easier for everyone else in the world.
Have a few other Bulova watches I have collected over the last few months that I will list now that I have a macro stand for my camera.

The US tried conforming with going metric, but the Drugstore Truck Driving Man- Pres Ronnie Regan - on his way out as lame duck, did a Presidential Order shooting down the US going metric.
I hear you- we US folks often say the UK butcher the English language with "incorrect pronunciations" of words like Schedule or Nugget...yet they invented the language, so it's a US-centric view we sometimes place on the rest of the world LOL..
