Watch Description

This is my father-in-law’s watch.  He piloted B24 Liberators in WWII in the South Pacific.  His plane, the Bird of Paradise, was shot down in early 1945; he broke his back and he and the other survivors were rescued by a PT boat.  He lost three of his crew in the crash, including his best friend and navigator. Jim wore this every day until he died in 2006.  I am curious to know if the Navigator model was made in 1947.

I puzzled over the advert and couldn't decide if I was seeing a representation of the seconds track on face or engraving on bezel. It's a tough call.

I'd have to say that the advert is showing the outer minute track. Not sure about the engraving, but this may have just added a variant.

I'm tentative Bulova American Clipper.
