Watch Description

Hello everyone.  Greetings from Ireland. As far as this Bulova is concerned I sadly have very little information.  It was given to my Father shortly before my Grandaunt passed away. She died 23 years ago. My Father believes she bought it in Philadelphia, while she was working there as a Nurse. This would have been around 1940.  However I have no way to know if that is true or not. I'm very curious to identify the model, and perhaps put an age to the watch. Any information you may have to help is greatly appreciated.  Two of my photos were too large to upload. So here I will write the markings as seen on inside of the extension clasp. "Kreisley Quality" USA PAT 2.064760

Hello Hazel, welcome to myBulova. I think you are most fortunate to have this wonderful watch from your father. Bulova made this watch sometime in the mid to late 1940's. The name is ether "Princeton" or "His Excellency" based on the exact year of the piece. Princeton and His Excellency were both advertised with a dial similar to your watch The serial number on the case back and/or the date code on the movement would help us determine the exact year of manufacture and thus the name.

You a quick Geoff :) I agree with you

Until 1946, these watches are known as Princeton since as His Excellence

HazelF it would be good to look at the designations on the bottom of the case

There should be a serial number of the back case. Could you please check and advise as that would help date the watch.

I agree with 1947 His Excellency. Is the case yellow or white gold?
