Watch Description

I beilieve that this watch could be a Dewey as seen in the 1947 adverts' #25 has the discription and #26 has the picture. I am looking at #54 in the advert. Case 35.40mm lug to lug x  23.60mm not counting the crown. I had the dial redone as exact by International.

No just Bulova and the serial #, but its a dead ringer for the cambridge, don't know how I missed that.

Hi Dennis,

The case serial # dates it at 1948, movement at 1949. The case could have been stock made in 48 but used in 49 to use up older stock. We see this alot with movements but I have seen it with cases as well.

Probably coz it's in the forum decades ads, easy to miss some great ads there!

Cambridge.

If it's 48 case w/ 49 mvnt, then Cambridge from me.

Dennis, click on Forums, click on Vintage Bulova information sharing, then click on the decade you want.

The Accutron ads haven't been made a "sticky" for some reason, and tend to slip down the field and off onto the next page sometimes so you have to search!

Yep, all good stuff, but hard to find!

Here's a topper.

Cambridge case is actually different to the Dewey.

There is a kind of "crease" or "recess" top and bottom centre of the bezel, and can be seen in both Cambridge ads. The case is squarer than the Dewey model's too.

Here is the 47 Dewey ad, matches the subject.

DEWEY, 3 tix.
