Watch Description

I am not sure of the year or model.

Just gave the movement a full clean and service, replaced all neccessary(broken) parts,  pulled case apart cleaned and re-set crystal .I believe it is 100% original. 

The crown  ?

I did have another dial and hands but since joing i have learned to keep my keepers Original and do not modify

correct year will be 1949, according to case serial number, movement is from 1948, I edited entry

After looking at the two examples It looks more like the 48.  Are we sure about the case #'s ?

because the manufacture year of the case is determined from first digit of case serial number, whitch is 9621939

year of watches manufacture is then derived from data that is later - movement is from 1948 and case is from 1949, watch is therefore 1949

A very recognizable model indeed, hard to mistake this one. I would venture to say the crown is replacement Mike.

It was being sold as a 30's, not running and missing the crown.

I wish I was able to determine the years like you and then I would be sure of what I'm getting.

I have a signed crown around somewhere, I'll find the correct one. sooner or later.lol

Nice HE NN.  By 1949 does the first digit of case SN relating to production year still hold?  I think we had some examples where we it did, but don't remember why that relationship was weaker that year.  Maybe we had some models which we determined by ads were 1949, but their case SN's started with something other than a "9"?

Maybe, but if I had to chose, I'd go with 1949 since there's no numeric "48" on the case in addition to the SN.

Perhaps these cases were made in more than one location, because some of these can be seen with a 6 or 7 digit case s/n. We see a '48' stamp on some, but looking through the database too many of these examples have no photo of the caseback, so a bit hard to find similarities. I would agree with 1949 based on the first digit of s/n.
