Watch Description

Yes! Finally got another for the AA shrine. I've had a few of this model but that was before we new it was the "Academy Award O". This one brings me up to 12 of the men's and 2 of the ladies. Looks like I'm gonna have to build a new display case or the AA's and the AG's. Lorraine wants them out of the China cabinat.

Let's see...this case design (very distinctive lugs) was used for the "Duo Wind" in 1951 and the "Thayer" in 1953, both self-winding (automatics), And now the Acadamy Award "O" model in 1951 too? Of course the case would be much "thinner" since it's not an automatic but the over design is pretty much the same. Odd, don't you think?

Just like Bulova to throw something odd into the mix.

Very nice watch and one to be proud of for sure.

Hi Rob,

Odd, No not really, the lugs are similar to the Duo Wind and the Thayer but not quite exactly the same. The AA's lugs are just a bit thinner. Must have been a popular design. The case on this watch is very similar to the Ashford for thickness, about 5mm not including the crystal. We do have an ad and a few Acadamy Award "O" models already in the database.

Pretty slick looking watch that wears well on the wrist and looks even better in he display with it's Brothers and Sisters.

I hope you have a big lock on that china cabinet!!

Love the dial on this one. I'm still in your will right?

Nope, no locks, just the security system and a big ass dog who will bark like crazy and then junp you and lick your hands and face till you give up.Either way 911 gets called and you get busted. As or my will, yea, I got MB covered

Nice AA "O", these seem to be harder to find than most of the rest of the AA's.

Keep looking Shawn, you will find the rest of them...maybe!

No worries OT. It's taken me 10 years so far to get the best of the best, so I can be patient enough to get the other 2 I'm missing. The hard part is gettinjg them in the original display cases with documents. All I have has the original display case, some with papers, some with the outer box and some with tags. I can live with that. It's all good. Yea, I am possessed.
