According to the really smart and dedicated folks at MyBulova.com is the first real Bulova Date watch (except for a very very few produced in the 1930's) and currently the only 1951 Model on this website. This CALENDAR model employs the 21 Jewel 10BMCD movement. I purchased form the original owner over 30 years ag and have always been afraid to wear it due to the Minty Nature of it's Case, Dial, Crown and Hands.
