Watch Description

Preliminary diagnosis would be 1953 Kirkwood  The case is marked "Bulova Fifth Ave New York".  It is 10 K rolled yellow gold plate and has an L3 date code.  The movement is 7AA, 21 jewels, marked L3.  Assuming I've identified it correctly, this watch was evidently identified recently using the 1957 line book.  The 1954 example in the database has a 21 jewel 7AA movement similar to this one. http://mybulova.com/watches/1954-kirkwood-6348

Even though the line book has a three year gap I have to believe this is a good match.

1953 Kirkwood Tentative until 1953 ad comes up.
