That is because one would tell me its a president and one would say no it's not. And it never was resolved to what it really is just as this one . Seems i have a knack for finding watches that no one has ever seen before. In a way this is a good thing and in a way its a bad thing because nobody can put a name to most of my Bulovas. Oh well i will keep seeking out these old beautys and posting my new finds. It is the thrill of the hunt i enjoy and that special find is the reward for the hunt.
Wellll I have another twist to the mystery. One of my water tites has the red second hand and the other has a gilt hand. Both are L4 10BUC movements and both case backs are, like yours Jim, L4 and Water Tite Bulova. Fifth what is your way in on this new development?? All three are 10K RGP and the only difference is one has a gilt sweep second hand?? What say you Admin???
JP
JP,
We have an 'UNKNOWN'.
The Dial is very 'CLIPPER'like as Greg pointed out, but 'CLIPPERs' are all shown to be self winding and the Case design differs. On this type of Case the Winding Stem is 2 parts and separates, the Bezel around the Glass pops off and the Movement and Dial assembly lift out through the front.
The Cases are stamped 'WATER TITE' Yes, but all of the Models named 'WATER TITE' are shown to be Steel and on the 'WATER TITE' model the entire Bezel separates from the Glass / Movement / Caseback assembly.
a humdinger
There is a similar design in the database named the 'CONVOY' - this could be a variant of as only the Case lugs differ.
What is the Case Diameter of Your 'UNKNOWNS'?
'CONVOY' is 31mm
31.51mm and the stems are two part and the movement comes out through the top after popping the bezel off. I have a stainless steel water tite with a 10BE movement in it and no markings on the back of the case but inside the back it says Bulova watch co. Swiss Stainless steel, There is a number stamped in there too and it is 4791.There is a T stamped into the movement. What is the year for the Convoy??
