This Bulova 23 was manufactured in 1955. The watch was completely overhauled. The 23 jewels automatic wind movement was cleaned and oiled and was left in excellent working condition. This is a high jewel count movement originally adjusted at the factory to 3 positions, hot, cold an isochronism (6 adjustments). It is truly one of the highest quality movement made by Bulova in that era. The 14kt white gold plated scalloped case with fancy lugs was restored, with only some pitting left on the steel cover. It measures 30mm (not including the crown). The white, sunburst dial with applied baton hour markers was also professionally restored and a new optical crystal was installed.
To be honest, these are my favorite Bulovas.
This one I sold a couple of years back, but I still had the pictures, so I figured I'd add it to the database.
I currently have three Bulova 23s in my rotation, a stainless steel cased one out for service, and about six more awaiting restoration. I'll add those three here when I get a chance, and the rest as I get them restored.
The funny thing is that I've probably sold more than I've kept. I'll have a few for sale in the next month or so, in case anyone here is interested.
