Picked this up on eBay.  Really poor pics, took a chance and am really happy I did. This completely matches the only other Clifton, a 1953 model, currently on the site. This will be going for a full service, I think it's worth that.   Regarding the crystal...I found two other examples of the Clifton Googling, besides the one on MyBulova.  Those two had standard rounded crystals, the other one on the site has a faceted crystal, mine has a very tall, flat, rectangular crystal.  I really like it! The seller had it on a red snakeskin strap but at the last minute remembered be had this really nice 19mm Teju lizard strap that I think completely makes the watch.

Anyway, 1955 Clifton??

Note, I orignally thought this was a 1953 as well, until I saw the serial when posting this, then looked back at the movement under a loupe and, sure enough, L5.  It looked like an L3 to me at first glance.

This was the seller's pic...the strap is much more red in person.  He sent that strap too so maybe it will end up on something at some point.  I like it better with the black lizard....I think :)

Oh AWESOME catalog pic, thanks so much!!!!  That strap looks like pigskin, maybe suede?  And almost no taper.  Interesting.  One thing's for sure,m that strap would be too small for me :)
