Was a Christmas gift from my Granfather to my Grandmother in 1965. It is petite, just like she was!

Ooops - from my Grandfather to my GrandMOTHER!

Your Grandmother received a very nice watch in 1965; I'm guessing it was pre-owned being a 1957 model. You will be happy to know that the model name goes along with your 'petite' description. Your watch looks to be the La Petite variant 'M', as seen in this 1960 ad:

It looks like it holds 12 diamonds; three on each side of the bezel and three top and bottom. The case is solid 14K gold, and it uses the top of the line 23 jewel movement. Very nice high-end watch, thanks for sharing.

Hello mehsjh, welcome to myBulova. I think you are most fortunate to have this wonderful keepsake from your grandmother. I imagine a watch as special as this one had to wait in the jewelry store for a couple years until the right man came in to buy it for the woman he loved. It really is a beautiful little watch. Please be sure to have it serviced if you plan to wear it.

Thank you for your assitance in identifying this watch. It truly IS a wonderful keepsake. Next step is to have it valued for insurance purposes. Again, your assistance is greatly appreciated!

I suggest having it appraised by a jeweler. We are not able to perform appraisals as there are so many variables.

thanks, Geoff! Was planning to do that but am unsure if I should just go to a regular jeweler or someone who works with estate jewelry????
