Nice Midnight Clipper. The black and gold is always a striking look.

I wish I had a dial like it for my 52,  much larger 34.25mm case approx 29.5 dial.  Just can't find one at a reasonable price.

It says 17 Jewel , does that includ the jewels in the rotor or does that really make it a 23 ?

If it is engraved 17, then 17 is the total jewel count, including any jewels in the automatic module. At one point, during the so-called 'jewel wars', manufacturers would place non-functional jewels in the watch movt to up the count. These sometimes would simply be jewels under the dial that served absolutely no purpose, or would have a marginal function, like being the surface the date disc revolved on. The dials had ludicrous jewel counts sometimes up to 100. This was stopped in the 60's.
