Fair question - Sorry I missed it in February. We try to be as exact as we can in this passion of identifying watches. Over the years we have had 'spirited' discussions as to how to classify a watch that was sold as a different variant based solely on the mount (band, bracelet or strap). Every now and then we find ourselves in a rat hole that doesn't have a clear exit. In those situations we still obsess over variant but eventually end up in a amiable compromise. Thanks for understanding that we're all STILL crazy watch collectors, we're glad you're in the club!

It is a fun and educational place to hang out.  I took the offending acrylic back off the watch

I just acquired an almost identical 1967 Hand Winding AeroJet.  The difference on the dial is that this one says "Waterproof", instead of "Self Winding".  1967 Hand Winding AeroJet

Point taken.  The gimmicky acrylic back is now gone, and it is now more relatively waterproof.

I also happened on a clear acrylic exhibition case back for this AeroJet configuration, so I decided to put it on this one, because of the beauty of the movement.1966 Self Winding AeroJet w/Exhibition Back

Here the listing of variants A, B, C and D

Bulova Aerojet

Unless they had other variants that match the band it would be classified as a generic Bulova Aerojet. I've updated the listing accordingly.

Hi Steve

Well that nullifies the model identification value to other members, so I will remove the clear back and restore this AeroJet "A" to it's former authentic glory (grin).  You may also remove the photo and comment about the little experiment, so as not to confuse anyone.  I see your point exactly, particularly since you are the Admin.  My wish is to be able to be able visit this site and receive clarification on Bulova questions, and to occasionally contribute to the database as well.  Still learning

warmly
