M6 on the Caseback and Rotor would indicate 1966.

a Florentine Bezel is mentioned in the 1966 'COMMANDER' ad, but they were 30 Jewels.

Shows a 66 clipper in the data base and the case is nothing like this one. Glad i didnt change this to clipper  as it is nothing like the 66 clipper shown.

In previous years/decades, a particular model looked a certain way, and you could compare cases to determine if you had a match for that model or not.  However, in later years, such as the 60s and 70s, lines of watches were made with very different cases within the line.  They had the same basic features, such as 30 jewels, water proof, etc, but, individually, they could look quite different from each other and still be a "Clipper", or a "Commander" or a "President", or a "Bulova 23" or  "Beau Brummell", etc.  If you read the ads, rather than just look at the watches displayed in the ads or in the database, you will see that many of the ads have text explaining things like "available in eight different models", while the ad will only displays three of them, and those three do not resemble each other.

So, in short, for the '60s and '70s models, you have to study features, not so much the cases.

Thank's for the lesson. But most ads the print is to small to read some its hard to see the name let alone read the fine print so to speak.

Gang  This is one reason I continue to look for new copies of ads already in the database.  The Sat Evening Post ads come to mind.  My local HI library does not have hard copy back beyond the mid 1940's, but someone near a large metropolitan city would most likely have a library which has these and other magazines back to the turn of the century.  I can't fly there, and they don't "loan" these old mags/journals too freely- they become like reference materials.  If I could spend an afternoon driving to a large library, I'd take my digital camera and get high res photos of these older ads...or use the library scanner to get high res digital copies.  ...but this endeavor from Hawaii would cost me $1000 or more, and would take days vs. hours.  We sure could use some updated ads from anyone so motivated and close to a library.  You should be able to view the library collection on line, including the back date to which hard copies exist, so you don't have to make a trip w/o first knowing the library has these pubs back to our required date.

...not complaining about HI, as it's 80 something degrees year round here, and beautiful beaches are ten minutes from my home....just few Bulova resources.

1966 ads or ad i should say shows nothing there is only one ad for 1966.
