Watch Description

This is a seldom seen model in like new condition which as very little documentation.   The case is 10KT white rolled gold plate. The bezel has a pattern on the top and bottom with a matching bracelet.  The dial is textured with a diagonal line and two tone.  The movement is a 10CL 17J also with an M6 date code.  We have identified this previously as a Counselor based on an ad from 1965.  It appears from the ad the yellow gold was given the C variant but I do not believe that is correct.   The ad below does not designate if the Variant C is White or Yellow Gold.  I found a listing in the 1969 Linebook showing the yellow gold as a Variant G.  I therefore believe White is actually the Counselor C and Yellow Gold is the Counselor G.   Or it could be the newspaper ad is actually a G. If you agree we need to update the following.

This one is a real puzzle. The 1965 ad calls out variant "C" as "yellow or white" as opposed to "also available in yellow", or "also available in white".  ID'ed as "also" would say "C" is one or the other and the second color is something else? Generally, a watch available in 2 colors would be advertised without a variant letter ie. "Counselor" ? There is a 3 year gap between these watches referenced and the linebook entry showing a different band. Original ads call out a matching Speidel band. By 1969 there is no white version called out. I wonder if both white and yellow on the ad shown band were both "C", white was dropped and yellow became "G" on a different band  in 1969? Just thinking out loud. I have a white one posted that is ID'ed as generic Counselor.

I can't seem to find any other ads or the linebook to help any.  I am good with Counselor.

Well after reading the post again I see that the linebook is 1969 which explains why I didn't find it.  The band is different in 1969 and I only find ads for this watch in 1966 so I am inclinded to go with the ads and go with "C".  From Dallas_Morning_News_1966-12-01_11
