Watch Description

Bulova astronaut m8 1968 type 4 with black bezel and white cream. Little scratch on glass but not a big deal still very clear. All radium on hand ligth in dark after 50 years ! Jb Champion bracelet. I don't open the case yet because I need specific tool but I have open the battery slot, I put a energizer 387s md silver 1.55 v inside with + symbol down but nothing move. However I can move manualy the hands with the little tongue and works. So I need to find the way to repair this watch, will be hard because in France

Yesterday I retried to put battery inside and after adjust few times the cell, I heard the accutron ! It's works now ! I'm very happy ! After 30 years old without work ! Awesome quality ! And first time for me to listen the accutron sound !

After that much time without service I would remove the battery and have it serviced as dried pinion oil could gum up the works leading to indexing wheel damage which will no doubt cost much more to repair than the cost of a good service...

You have totally reason on this topic but I'm in France and it's really hard to find a watchmaker that know how repair or serviced an accutron

For information, it's not radium on hands as I wrote on the description but tritium and on the bottom of the dial we can read " < 25 mCi T SWiSS T < 25 mCi " that signified that the watch emit less than 25mCi of Tritium.
