Additional Information

This belongs to a fellow watchmaker I met in Cincinnati recently and the pictures really don't do it justice. I had a pic of the caseback and hence the serial number and/or date, but I have lost it somehow. It's a good example of a customized dial Bulova, and fully serviced, of course!

I'll see if I can get the caseback markings to complete this record.

By kind permission of the owner.

Thinking a Bulova Sea King model.

Pan American College

I agree, perhaps the E variant? This is what I found. I suspect the 'six' is actually supposed to look the same as the nine, twelve and three and that what we see here is a fault in the advert.

Another potential model, Bulova Sportsman 'A', variant suggests different styles. Fitting model for Pen State.

Spokesman, not Sportsman. I looked at that advert for a bit and pondered the curiosity that a watch called Spokesman would be used to advertise the College. It almost seemed a play on words. I think I moved past it based on the year of the advert.

I would go with the Sea King; the lugs on subject watch look more similar to the Sea King vs. the Sportsman (more thicker and straight), 'E' variant could be a match, though ad does not state case color.

I'm thinking the lugs match the Sea King.
