Watch Description

Here is one that has been on my bucket list for a while and now have thanks to my picker friend in Florida.  I was hoping for an Orange dial but Black is a close second choice.

1969 Bulova Skystar "A"

The case is stainless steel and has a beveled edge and brushed finish top.  The case back is stainless with an M9 date code.  The movement is an 11BKACB 17 Jewels also with an M9 date code. The dial is black with silver applied hour markers with a pantina'd yellow lume.   The Bakelite bezel is a dark robins egg blue with the cities of the world.  Love the red day window as it adds a nice pop of color.   It seems like they made these for only about a year hence not an easy watch to find.   Confirmed the model and variant in the 1969 Line Book BAWD0172 page 38.  It should be noted the spelling is listed as SKYSTAR and not SKY STAR as we have them listed.

Nice score! Also on my bucket list as well. The bezel ring is in exceptional condition! The very few of these that I have encountered over the years all had radical color fading.

1969 Skystar "A" it is

Wonderful watch and a nice one for the collection, if you are lucky enough to find one.

I'll fix up the model taxonomy to be Skystar.

Bob did you not include the "A" variant because the original bracelet is missing?

Based on the linebooks 3 examples I'm confident we can give it the "A" variant.

"A" = Black dial
"B" = Orange dial
"C" = White dial

Agreed, it's an "A". My bad, just forgot to type in the variant. Fixed it.
