Going out on a limb, I'm going to say 1969 Sea King. There's another 69 Sea King in the database, but the lugs are different on that one. There must be some Sea King variants?
Thanks, TQ
Ok so this raises an interesting question. I missed that this watch actually has 'Sea King' on the dial, were-as the other example does not (Bulova 1969 -Unknown | myBulova.com).
They both look to be identical except for the 'Sea King' on the dial.
Thoughts on this....I'm stumped as I've not been able to find any SK with a date and day function.
Although have we not seen linebook entries that list Clippers with the 'Sea King' text on the dial....I'll have to try and find an example.
Here are two example watches that may hold the key to what model this is.
The top watch is very close, except the hour indicators are different. Listed as a Clipper.
The bottom watch shows 'Sea King' on the dial, yet is also listed as a "Clipper". There are other references that show a Clipper with "Sea King' on the dial.
Thanks for looking into it further. I can't imagine the rationale behind putting the name of one current model on another current model's dial, but there it is. At the time, most people probably weren't aware of the model name, anyway, they just went to the jewelry store and pointed at the watch they liked.
Thanks again,
TQ
