This is a very nice watch.  Generally these are classified as a 1972 Bulova Accutron Date and Day.  Im still looking for the variant.

It has an unusual 218 movement tilt to put the crown at 3 o'clock...

I'm thinking if it wasn't intentional then the dial would be tilted as well?

Interesting watch. If the movement was tilted, the dial and date window would also need to be tilted, as they all appear to be. Everything looks legit, but a search through the linebook may confirm.
