Watch Description

This looks like it is one of the Golden Clippers, screw-in ring on caseback, gold-plated mvmnt. with date, but manual not automatic, big case, 41mm. long, 40mm. wide w/o crown, 18mm. lug gape. Big hunk of a watch, unusual blue batons and hands and unusual circular dial with blue horizontal line and horizontally striped background. Expanding fixo-flex bracelet looks original as it is used on other Bulova's, like on the number 7 "luminous" watch in image 33, page 11.

All of the Golden Clippers that we have ad's for are Waterproof (Whale symbol) and Automatic, so maybe an Unknown for now until we find a ad that sheds more light on what non-autos were called in 1973?

From the 1970 ad, it appears that they don't all have the whale symbol on the dial, but the ad does describe them as waterproof and automatic.

Bob it looks like the date code on the movement is N2?  I like the blue hour markers/hand accent etc....

Yup, Will, N2 mvmnt. N3 case. Gold plated 11AOCD, hidden lugs and waterproof case made me think GC, but maybe it's something else. The blue is really bright, and the pics were taken in strong light, doesn't look anywhere near as scratched to the naked eye. One day we may find an ad for it, or at least Jerin or Lisa will!

So subject watch is waterproof (even if not marked as such). absence of whale symbol dosn't rule out Golden Clipper.   ....but it's an manual wind, not auto.  maybe an unknow until more is revealed.  The discussion of Golden Clipper possibility will remain in the comments, so we'll know what bobbee originally entered it as.

Should the ID on this one be changed to unknown based on comments etc?

Here is the gold version of the above watch . Dated 1973 with the 11AOCD and manual wind. it has blue tipped hands and blue hour markers , which do not show up in the photo.
