Watch Description

BASE METAL BEZEL, STAINLESS STEEL BACK, GOLD TONE EXTERIOR BEZEL, DIAL IS CIRCULAR WITH A DARK BROWN COLOR ON THE OUTSIDE AND IT LIGHTENS AND FADES TO AN ORANGE AS YOU GET TOWARD THE MIDDLE. THE HOUR INDICATORS ARE GOLD SQUARES WITH A ILLUMINANT TYPE ORANGE STRIP IN THE MIDDLE. THE HANDS ARE GOLD TONE AND ARE ALSO TREATED WITH THE SAME ORANGE ILLUMINANT COLOR. THE DIAL IS MARKED BULOVA SELF WINDING AND THOUGH IT DOESN'T SAY SWISS MADE THERE IS AN UPPER CASE T TO THE LEFT AND AN UPPER CASE S TO THE RIGHT OF THE 6 OCLOCK HOUR INDICATOR. THE MOVEMENT IS MARKED N3, TWENTY THREE JEWELS, BULOVA WATCH CO. AND IS A SELF WINDING MOVEMENT. THERE ARE DIFFERENT LETTERS OF THE ALPHABET ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE DIAL THAT OVER HANGS THE MOVEMENT. IT FEATURES A DAY/DATE WINDOW BLOCK WHERE THE 3 OCLOCK HOUR INDICATOR WOULD NORMALLY BE.

Billy, nice watch and good pics.

Your Movement Model should be 11AOACB, if I'm reading it correctly. I assume you entered N3 becase that is on the movement, the glare is making it a little hard to see. The N4 date code on the case back would superced the movement date code in this instance so the Manufacture Year should be 1974.

In this instance, does the 3261 indicate the o-ring that fits the case, or is it a case number relating to the crystal needed?  Nice red "70's" look to this automatic day/date watch!  A 70's style similar to this one .  I wonder how many of those 23 jewels are used for the rotor, and how it compared to the 17 jewel 11ACACB for quality?

Both the 'PRESIDENT' and the 'SENATOR' are shown in 23 Jewel Day/Date configurations  in the 'Mens lib' ad of this era, not that We should limit Our choices to those 2 model lines.

'UNKNOWN'

Thank You All for sharing your knowledge with me. You are correct that I did place the N3 in the post as it is stamped on the rotor appendage. I wish I could give you a comparison but this one is currently being stubborn and will only run for a few hours and then stop on it's own. I failed to mention that with this particular Bulova I have to pull the stem out to change the date or number. I have several more Bulova Watches as does my wife, but this is the only one that we have that changes the date this way. Again, Thank You all and I look forward to listing more of my Bulovas and learning from you about them. I hope you all have a day as great as mine.... My Grandson, who is in head start, chose me, his PaPa to go make oatmeal raisin cookies with him at his school and for me this is priceless.. take care..Billy

I'm thinking it's one of the Jetstar line as shown in this 1973 ad. Note the similarities to the watch on the left. Only issue is the Jetstars were 17 Jewels. That said, I also have this 23 Jewel Selfwinding Day/Date from 1973. Looks an aweful lot like the watch on the top right.

unknown from me.  Has many similarities to Jet Star case, Pres and Senator.

Billy, can you correct the Manufacture Year and the Movement Model? Thanks.

I changed the year and the movement and I replaced the photo of the movement with another that didn't seem as bright. I hope that helped. Thank you all for your help... Billy

That's a big help Billy, thanks. While the changes don't help in identifying your watch at the moment, it will help when someone searches for the same info and could lead to an id if an ad is found.
