Hi, can anyone confirm that this is a 1940's watch please, and is the gold plated bezel a bit unusual?
Also it looks like a man's watch but it seems a bit small (28mm) any ideas?

Watertite's ran from the early 40s through to the early 50s.
If you take the back off you should be able to see the date code on the movement http://www.mybulova.com/bulova-date-codes

The first numeral of the Case seriel number indicates the Year of manufacture, if post 1949 the Caseback will be stamped with a capital letter followed by a single digit numeral. (Some 1948 and 1949 Bulova Watch Cases are stamped '48' and '49' respectively).
Several database ads for the 'WATER TITE' mention a Gold Case.
