This Yankee Clipper watch is harder to find since it comes with black dial and less were produced. Most Yankee Clipper came with a white/silver dial.
The dial is very similar to the white Yankee Clipper, as well as the Midnight Clipper, but the case does not match and I don't see any reference to a black dial Yankee Clipper. There are black dial models listed in the pricelists for Sea Clippers and Jet Clippers, but I can't find any matches so far.
I'm good with Clipper, but hoping I can run down an ad which ID's it further. No biggie on the black redial, as there may have been a black dial variant anyway. I saw what appeared to be the "lapping", and black seems to be a very popular color for redials. I love the black and gold color scheme!
Edit: I think its the other black dial pending review on which I see the lapping. I'm not seeing it on this one, but my screen is not displaying correctly.

If it's a re-dial, it's a good one. Black is, after all the most common re-dial colour.
I'm seeing slightly different hour markers on the advert, and that with the hand difference makes me think we have a Clipper, but probably a more specific name than that.
edit:
The dial and hands are a dead ringer for Andersok's 1964 Midnight Clipper, which also has a lapping paint effect on the hour markers.

The black paint is definately on the sides of the markers; as far as I know or can tell it has not been re-dialed; there is a small indent at 3:00 but not a sharp cutout notch.
So, does subject watch have a dial from a Midnight Clipper housed in a different case, possibly from another Clipper model? The ad above is Canadian and appears to have some inconsistent prices, it appears to show the $49.50 American Clipper as just the Clipper, but next to it is a $69.50 Royal Clipper which was not available at that price according to the pricelists.
I think it is a Clipper, but which model, and were the dial and case always together?
