Orange dial reads: "Bulova - Oceanographer - Automatic - Snorkel - 666 Feet - T S wiss T." The "Bulova" name is raised, done with applied metallic coloured letters. Movement is signed: "Bulova Watch Co. - 11ALACD - 17 Jewels Seventeen - Swiss - Unadjusted - BXW - M5". Cross-haired dial with magnified date window and "starfish" style hands. Scre w-in caseback is signed "Bulova - Waterproof" with the figure skater motif. Strap lug width is 18 mm. All steel 35 mm diameter case (excluding the non-screw-down Bulova signed crown) with bi-directional, ratcheted dive time bezel. Original paint of the bezel indices possibly worn off. Inner side of case-back is signed "Stainless Steel - Swiss - MLB (inside a tombstone-shaped figure) - 386-1 - M5".
Great looking watch BulovaBlue. This one could be tricky. I'd say the case is a Snorkel. I don't think I ever seen a Snorkel though with anything other than black or white dial. I have seen Oceanographers of the 1970's with 'Snorkel' on the dial but I don't believe I've ever seen a 1960's Snorkel with 'Oceanographer' on the dial.
I'm inclined to go with "Snorkel" for the ID on this beauty.
