Possibly a Douglas, 1946. White gold filled, 17 jewel manual, slate dial.
Wondering if the white gold version went by a different name.
Rev, silly question I know, but just confirming it is white gold filled?
I've found ads for the 'Douglas' showing as 'yellow' & 'red/rose/pink gold', so it's highly likely that it also cam in white gold. Still checking the ads.

This 1946 Bulova advert shows the 'Red' as the Douglas 'A" and the "Yellow' as the Douglas 'B'.
No mention of a White gold version.
This is another in the DB:

On my example, the centre of the dial is bleached, maybe from excessive sunlight, but I really like these slate dials.
Interesting dilemma. I'm surprised we didn't have this discussion around the watch Jerin posted so long ago. I'm inclined to ID as Douglas but there is the 'no ad' question. I guess I'd have to tentative.
Agree Rev, the slate dial is a great combination to the white gold.
