HMMM...
I believe the "two tone" dial is perhaps yet ANOTHER model? The "red tinted dial" equates to "copper toned dial," in say the case of the Brewster model, along side the Director...

Scott,
If close attention is given to the full size vintage ad dated 1941 the Dial details are identcal to the Dial showing on the Watch.
'Red tinted' (Rose or Copper) Dial which is trimmed in White (most evident on the illustration sub Dial) and Silver. 'Red Rolled Gold plate' - Commonly referred to as "Rose Gold" with White metal (Stainless Steel) back. The Watch matches the ad and the ad's description 100% and it's not a restoration, it's an original piece.
1941 'DIRECTOR' as indicated in the advertisement above.

Hey Mark,
I agree the dial is indeed original, and the movement is from 1941... But I don't see a two- tone dial there, and there's no mention of such, in the desciption(s) (i.e. Nor in the Brewsters.) And I've yet to see a two- tone Brewster dial?)
This appears an earlier use of the same case design, later used for perhaps the Banker and maybe also a Commodore (pre 1947) model? I don't know where the "1947" was denoted... Jerin may have uploaded it here??
Nice watch design :-)
Scott

Scott,
I understand there is no mention of the two tone but if You look closely around the perimeter of the Dial (predominatly shaded Red) and compare that area to the sub-Dial (shaded White)
the Dial described/shown in the ad is the Dial of the Watch.
below is a 1941 'DIRECTOR' currently in the database.
Same Case, same Dial, same 17 Jewel 8AE.
Same Watch but with a 3 star rating, go figure.....I'll pull this one from the database.

Wayne,
You're right... That is indeed a 1949 ad. I see no 1947 ads, in blue... I believe Jerin uploaded that one here originally, as I had a higher res. scan, vs. the ad, in this instance... I don't recall where the "47" date originated. But I date stamp everything, every image...

The 1949 BULOVA "COMMODORE."
'COMMODORE' needs a new thread to discuss, You're muddying the Water as this Watch is a 'DIRECTOR'.
In fact it's been discussed:

Oh My... Your guys are getting pretty GOOD :-)

Wish I had more TIME to hang around, so I'm hardly up on what's been discussed, not, or proven here, of late...
Apologies for cluttering up your post, Mark!
