Actually, I have no idea what the date of maufacture is. I am hoping someone else might recognize it. I will be taking it in to a specialist in a couple of weeks, but I just found this website today,so I decided to see if anyone else knew of it. It was my grandfathers watch and he died in 1956, so I am figuring it dates from some point after his time in WW1 to 1955, but probably between the late 20s to 40s. Who knows, certainly not me!

Welcome aboard! I have never seen a picture of what I think your watch may be. On site we have vintage watch ads. I have cropped what I think your watch may be out of a 1929 ad 3. The watch never appears again in any ad we have on-site. Having never seen a pic of the real watch before, I would guess it is a wee bit of rare. Any opinions out there, comments please!!!!!
Hi,I know they are not really good pics; say thank you built in Toshiba web cam! I will try to get a better pic this week. I don't know if the wrist band is the original, I do know it has an imprint of Speidel on every link. But I really am afraid to try to get it open myself and will have to wait to get it to the repair guy.(and I do mean someone who deals with antique watches in NYC).amy
