admin,
I agree, the Watch Case is more similar to the artists rendition ot the 'WATER-TITE'.
Crown matches 100% also.
(even though I still believe it to be the 'SEABEE'. lol)
'WATER-TITE' was the initial ID on this Watch months ago which was shot down by Members having these Models in need of ID. Center seconds was one issue.
The Watch has now been shown in a Center seconds configuration.

There is no text on the crown, it is worn to base metal & what you see is corrosion pitting of the remaining gold fil.
I recommend we change the category name of "Military" to "Military Issue" for the Ordinance, A11, A17 military issue watches. Add a new category of "Military Style", for non-military issue.
Watches, such as my unknown in question above, would go into the "Military Style" category. Of course, only until we gain source data that proves a particular name. Military Style watches are normally round in shape & have full 1-12, and/or 13-24 hour tracks.

Where is the Date coming from on this Watch?
According to this document: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/2708338.pdf the Case style was not designed until 1951 and then patented on May 17, 1955.
