Bulova 23 "G" model; case and movement are dated L6; 10BPAC movement; white sunburst dial with golden markers and hands; yellow gold case in very nice shape; original band replaced with leather.

'23'

The 'G' ad states 'expansion band', it's unclear if the Watch was sold any other way but if so the variant designation would change.

'six adjustments' printed on the Dial seems to only appear on early versions of this Model line.

Well...by 1956 is it still the "G", or did it change to "GW" by then?   Good catch on model number from price lists Ken.    I'm good with "G", but if we find a few more price lists for those years we are missing, we may be able to demonstrate when the change from G to GW occurred.  
Anybody out there got any of the price lists from 1956?   We have a single from 1954, a couple from 1955, then the next we have is Fall 1958.   A lot can happen in those missing years.... :)  Ask your older jeweler/watchmaker friends to check their basements or attics.... I'd rather have the data than try to interpolate   LOL

This is not quite correct, as the 1954 ads and watch examples on site all show the dials with "self winding" on them. Some 1955 examples of the "23" model have "self winding, some have "six adjustments. Again, some 1956 models have both legends on the dial.

The legend "six adjustments" first appears on watch dials in ads and examples in 1955, but is seen in Bulova ads as late as 1958, and on watch examples 1956.

No variants are seen anywhere with the bracelet or strap being the deciding factor in the variant, only the case/dial.

I would qualify the "No vairinats are seen anywhere w/ bracelet/strap being deciding factor" with "in the Bulova 23 series", as we now see in some models (e.g. His Excellency) the mount does determine the variant.
....and I'm not even sure that we can say that about the 100 plus variants of Bulova 23's, but I don't remember for sure.

Was only commenting on Bulova "23"s as per thread, and I've looked at all known ads, and as I said, no variants are seen anywhere that use the mount as the deciding factor.

If we ever see any that do, I will be very, very surprised! :-)

Yea that's what i thought for the Bulova 23's and mounts.  Maybe a couple will turn up, but none to date.
