Watch Description

MORE INFO......for help with dating my watch. I took it to a jeweler who said the diamonds are genuine and of exceptional quality. Inside it says Bulova.....23 jewels....5AD.....M1.....U.S.A. And a small arrow shape. I posted a pic of the inside I just don't know how clear it is. I want to sell it, but I want an estimated value. Can anyone help? I've been told Diamond Empress or Diadem? I've looked through thousands of watches but can't find another one like it. I has over 2 carots of diamonds. Keeps perfect time. And looks beautiful just as jewelry. Where would I go to get an estimated value? I've been told by a local jeweler that the diamond and gold value are approximately $5,000.00. He said that the real value is intrinsic. He had not been able to find another one like it. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Inside the box lid it says Fifth Avenue.there is Aldo a crown. And it says Bulova.

The "wide v" that the OP refers to is probably the chevron symbol we see on other 23j mvmts of this vintage. Unfortunately the significance of the chevron symbol is still unknown.

If there's a Crown to the left of the box inner lid I'm going 'DIAMOND EMPRESS' or 'DIADEM'

The 'DIAMOND DREAM' and 'LA PETITE' are also advertised with 23 Jewels in Diamond embellished 14K Gold Cases.

I am trying to sell this watch, but don't have any idea what it is worth. I have paid a $5.00 donation to this site, because that's what it said was required in order to list a watch for sale. However, when I check the box (for sale) it does not reflect that in the ad. The ad is still showing "NOT FOR SALE". Any help on how I can fix this?

Try e-mailing [email protected] and let Stephen know that it is not showing up on the scrolling "For Sale" box, I am sure he can help you fix it.

Well, I'm not sure but it could be your browser. If I have problems I login on Google Chrome and retry the edits to the watch. That usually works for me.

On another note, we don't evaluate watches on this site as there are just too many variables and the bottom line, It's only worth what somebody is willing to pay. Just an FYI, this case shape dosen't seem to be very popular. I've listed mine on Ebay 3-4 times for 30 days each time and at a very, very reasonable price (scrap value basically) and still, it remains unsold.

...at least it's a Bulova case, and a Bulova Movement.
I remember the "unknown" chevron symbol on some of these 23 jewelers DarHin mentions.   They don't tool and dye up for a stamp without it having some (unknown) meaning.    Very nice watch, and worth more for intrinsic value than gold and diamond value....if you can find someone interested in it's intrinsics.....
