Todays $60 find on the way home from St. Augustine Greek Fest. Roadside Antique store had this beauty. Had to have her. She runs accurate with Hack feature. No tools to open her until I get home from the weekend. It had an expansion band  that I swapped with my 1968 Timex 600ft Skindiver I had packed with me for the weekend. 19mm Tropic will be arriving in the mail monday for the Skindiver.  Dont mind todays daily wearer in the photo shot.

I doubt the A-17A or the 3818A were available at the PX, they were issued.

The A-17A Caseback states U.S. Property, the 3818A simply states U.S. which most likely is an indication of the same meaning.

If We're dragging Our Wives into this discussion Mine was the Wife from Hell, needless to say She's no longer around.

Hey Doug, I just picked uo another 3818A. It was missing the movement/case ring and dust cover but I had a spare set sot it's all good again. Currently on my wrist keeping great time.Looks great with the Olive drab band. It may be WWII issue but it still looks great

As for Will, JP has made contact and Will  has been very ill so I won't pay too much attention to JT  for now. No offence meant JIm. I don't see discussing this now as that will just evolve into a " he said"--"he said" situation. I'm going to try to touch base with Will myself before I post any further comment. If Will has left for personal reasons, health or if something happened, I have to hear it from him, not you or JP .I consider Will a freind and have shared several personal emails.so  for now, I'm at a we'll see, maybe, standby mode till I hear from him myself.

I spoke to Will also matter of fact he pm me and i didnt see it my place to blab his health issues. And belive me Will and i have shared many emails. He always tells me to say hello to my wife for him, and me his. The Important thing here is to pray for Will and a speedy recovery. I consider him my friend and one of a few here that has Class and tact, Unlike others who will remain nameless. Again we all need to pray for Will and a speedy recovery Nuff said!

Agreed entirely. I have always held Will in high regard, always considered him a good friend and coleague. Thank You for letting us know what JP confirmed. Myself and my family will keep William and his family in our thoughts and prayers and I will Contact them to voice the same. He is part of our family and deserves our support and best wishes. Thank You for coming forth with that info. I'm sure all here share our sentiment.
