This watch appears to be a manual-wind watch, not an automatic - going by the lack of 'Selfwinding' or such on the dial, the caseback looks to be flat or lower-profile, and we also do not know the movement inside. I don't believe we have any Bulova 23 ads that are not automatic, that was a feature of that line. It also appears the same applies to the Regatta line; does anyone know if there were non-automatic Regatta models? There were 23 Jewel models in the early 60's that were manual, such as the President, Commander, and His Excellency, or Beau Brummel (though no diamonds here). I'm at Unknown right now, until we can find something more concrete and/or know what is hiding inside the case.

Don't know off hand if there were manual wind Regatta. I now see the lack of self winding or automatic on the case back, which is on the Regatta and Bulova 23 case backs in the examples I used. Also wondering if the flatter case back of subject watch has room for the rotor of an automatic?
I'm at Unknown for now too.
