Watch was presented to my father in 1978. It passed to me in the late 90's. Was serviced in 2002. Case and crystal are not in the best condition. I have resisted restoration as I would like to keep and use it as my late father did. Biggest issue is that the strap was missing a couple of links and as such was very tight. A local watch repairer inserted an 'expansion' link. But this makes it uncomfortable to wear. Would very much like to source some original links to replace those lost. Update: Had the watch serviced and 'lightly' restored. New correct crystal. Hands relumed and case lightly polished. The original crystal did not have a magnifier over the date. Thanks to a forum member I was able to source a NOS replacement.
The ad is from a Bulova Snorkel ad, the watch in the "ad" is the watch for sale, and has been placed on top of an old Snorkel ad, not an Accutron Snorkel ad, as this would have either a tuning fork or the word Accutron.
After clicking on the link Geoff posted, the watch can be seen in several different positions on the same ad.
If you look at the watch ad above, a reflection can be seen of the bracelets lower right lug area.
Fake ad.
Total fake, the link proves it.
The same second hand (used) watch is showing the same time in different pics.
The ad says Bulova Snorkel, not Accutron Snorkel.

EDIT:- Funny how your "Morrisons jeweler sourced" ad uses the same second hand watch showing exactly the same time as the one in Geoffs link.
