Watch Description

I picked this up at a junk shop for $5. So I'm thinking with the date code of N4 that this is a 1974. My concern is do you think this is authentic. I'm curious as to the Red Second Hand. I know some of these were made after the railroad additions in the early 70's. Can anyone verify what I have here? Thanks!

The case back lists as an Accutron 214. The watch appears to be an Accutron Space View. The movement is definitely a Bulova 214 movement.

Btw, I found the date code " N4 " on the top of the movement and also under the serial number of the case back.

I couldn't believe all I had to do was google it, and the table came right up.  Now i can tell when any Bulova watch was made.  My Spaceview is from 1961, and my Accutron York was made in 2005, I think.  I can't find the serial number, but I will.  Have  great day!

Has the Spaceview reflector but looks to be missing the original crystal which has the Accutron branding.

I still think it's a 1974 Bulova  Accutron Spaceview.

Cool watch hog, especially for a fiver. Accutron Spaceview is most likely what we're going to classify it. As you may know, thousands of Accutron were converted to Spaceview over the years. Some were done right at the point of original sale and others after the fact. The link that jabs inserted above is a page that can help determine if it's original or conversion, including the factory list of original Spaceview case numbers (yes, yours IS on the list). At the end of the day I'm not sure you can ever be positive. Either way.....it's $5 right? Great snag!

Spaceview.

I'd say Space View for this beauty.  Probably worth getting serviced so it does hum.....
