Underneath the movement Serial Number: Seventeen 17 Jewels Unadjusted Swiss - Under the back cover: R/ 7596-1 Swiss
Bizet - is there any way you can get us close up shots on the front and back of this watch? When you pull the crown out half way and advance the day of the week does it have something other than english?
I think all the knock offs we see coming off the pacific rim are based on this watch, I sure would like to identify this beauty.
I'm going with Unknown for now as well. I'm not sure, but I think we decided a while back not to use Set-O-Matic as a proper name. I do think this is the original watch that seems to be the basis for what we think are the fakes.
Here's the example: http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1979-non-conforming-5065
Thinking about how we can edit the current movement serial number entry to facilitate using the search movement serial numbers pull-down function which Admin has created. I can simply ignore this record in query return, but its obviously not a correct entry for this field.
I can use the "movement serial number starts with" and set a lower end to the return. I know we don't have a relational database here, but I can dream/wish. Would also be nice to subset the query to return serial numbers within movement model field.
I really want to go fishing, but don't have the right tackle to tackle the job.
I'd presented a challenge to some computer science grad students a couple years back...."who would like to try and get the data out of MyBulova.com and create a relational database for a possible Masters thesis...", but without funding, there were no takers....and this task could almost be a dissertation....LOL It turned out to be a little bit too much to ask for three credits of directed research too, as I tried this offer with no takers.
