Hello one and all, I'm new to vintage watch collecting but have been checking it out for a while. This is my first vintage watch,a Bulova unknown? I bought it on ebay usa recently but I don't know what it is exactly I hope someone can help me out. It's is quite small even though I checked out the dimensions I thought it would be bigger in reality,it's 27mm by 18mm lug,to small and feminine for me to wear,it was listed as a mans watch, were mens watches sometimes this small? As ladies watches are tiny in comparrison. The inside movement states seventeen jewels,Bulova watch 10CL and adjustable Swiss M6. The stainless steel back states Bulova M6 10k R.G.P Bezel and J195777 ( is that year 1957?) The case it self has no markings at all,I do believe it's gold plated though. Is it possible that the case does not belong to the movement? I would be gratefull if anyone could help shine a little light.
Many thanks.

Hi bourg01
Thanks for that,I must say I was suprised it's from the 60's,it's 1 year older than me,it looked very
much earlier,a kind of Deco style. I know what you mean about wearing it,I will have to find a complementary strap something original (just as I've typed this I've tried it on and the new strap it came with has broken lol, well it needed another one anyway) , Lisa left a link for Geoffs model with
an interesting period strap.
Many thanks
Adam, I find the smaller rectangular watches comfortable to wear, especially while working. Women's wristwatches were originally larger than the "Granny watches" they became in the 40's and 50's. Men's watches were also smaller originally, and it has been in the last decade or so we have seen them get preposterously large. Certain styles of the rectangular or square watches just seem to look better on a man's wrist, you may find one that really just seems to 'work'. I have a really fat wrist, and I managed to find an old style that seems to look normal. A lot of them don't work on my wrist. (7.5 ")

Hi Rob
I know what you mean,I personally like the rectangular watch shape I think it works well on a mans
wrist,I'm checking out a couple at the momment.I agree also some watches today are ridiculously
large,I have in the past bought a ladies modern watch (dare I say Diesel hhmm) because it looked more classic (it was in an old style/understated) and the fit looked better.
Many thanks.
I lost one of these (Counselor A with the gold colored face) severa years ago. It had sentimental value and I'd like to have it back. It has an engraving on the back that will identify it as the one I lost.
Today I have one just like it in perfect working order. It's a long shot I know, but I thought I would post a lost ad here in case someone purchases the watch and comes to this webpage.
I would buy the watch outright or trade the one I currently have if someone happens to have it.
If you run across one of these with an engraving please email me at [email protected] with what the engraving says. If it is the one I lost you could make me very happy!
Thanks
