Stainless Steel Watertight Case measures 34mm lug to lug x 28.5mm non inclusive of the Crown. Butler finish Dial shows Radium Arabic numerals, Bulova signature and tracks are printed in Black with the Register numerically calibrated at 10 Second intervals. Hour and Minute Hands are Radium style. (missing Center Seconds Hand?) Vintage Display ad is Dated 1954.
Looks like a Watertight but the dial says no. Could be the Seabee but the ad is too grainy to get a good look at the sweep seconds track to confirm it as a match. I can't find the ad in the data base to give it a good look either. For sure it's missing the sweeps hand.
Magellan dial doesn't match, and the Reference to Seabee is a change in the band. Not enough concrete data to back this one up as anything but another unknown.
I guess the Seabee ad is in your own collection rather than in the mybulova database and I presume it's not date confirmed like the Blackout ad you presented a couple weeks back?
Mark, I'm not trying to split hairs with you but if your going to present data, it should be confirmed, dated and it should be in the database for all our membership to look at and form their own opinions.
Still an unknown, IMO.
yea, I can see the case detail but I can't see the detail of the sweep track on the Seabee ad, it's just too grainy and if I try to expand it, it just gets worse. Still a really nice watch that would look awesome restored. I might even have one or two somewhere around here. The "Seabee" could be a good bet as it does fall into the Military/Navy kinda style and the name fits. That's just speculation though, Who knows for sure. As for the ads, if they have disapeared, re-submit them, I'm sure Stephen would repost them.
I think several ads have disappeared or shown up duplicated or I've heard even in the wrong year- Don't know if it's a system problem. Mark may have some examples of the ads which have either gone or gone whacky off the top of his head. This is a bummer, as the ads are such an important reference....
In reply to I think several ads have by William Smith
Not sure why these ads have dissappeared. I never remove them, so will investigate.
I'll add the ad back into the database. It's a low res ad but better than nothing. (ad is 1954). The outer minute ring is a match.
For what its worth I agree with the Seabee call. Just need the sweep second hand to fix it.
