Couple of possible answers. . .
- That's most likely what it is, based on the photograph. We've never seen another model with that case.
- There are no defined standards for what the checks mean, nor is more information required to list a watch, so each panel member can decide for him/herself how many checks are warranted based on the information provided.
Howdy from Dallas, Texas
Actually I just found this site and was researching all the great conversations about Bulova watches and a time piece was passed down thru our family to me and was trying to find information about it. Some of the information listed that was required I didnt know where to find like MODEL AND JEWELS? I just had knew from a picture and a few of y'alls conversation what this was. I dont know how to take a watch apart and not will to try it myself. This is a family heirloom and not really sure if its a mans or womans- seems a bit delicate to be a mans, but time periods could be very different that what Im sure used to. I had seen a few others on some sites that came with a leather band or just had the face and no band. This is a stunning piece and I have always likes it because Ive never seen a watch band that looked like a cut herringbone necklace that could be used/stretched as a watch band and come back together- just amazes me. If anyone has any information about this time piece I would appreciate it.
sorry- its a horrible picture but was just approved for the account and its the only one I had taken with my cell phone so was wanting to get it uploaded to see if what I could find out. So this watch actually has never been on this site? from looking it was made starting in 1950 called the Director so I assumed it would a common version?
The Case has been seen many times before, We are familiar with it and Yes, it's the early 1950's 'DIRECTOR', a nice example of one judging from the images.
Is the Case White or Yellow? the expansion Bracelet appears to be identical to the one shown in the vintage ad.
