Very nicely kept 23 Jewel automatic. Purrs right along.

I believe the Bulova 23 was in production after 1963, we just may not have ads for this. I guess We believe that. But we know, based on ads on site, the Regatta 23 did exist, and it was fairly new model release. In other instances we are willing to accept a watch fitting an ad from two or three (or sometimes more) years after ad date, but only when we don't have ads indicating that the model name may have changed in future release years. Based on the ads we have, it could be arguede that a tentative Regatta holds as much merit as a tentative Bulova 23 for which we don't have ads for 1964?
The model lists from Spring 1964 show 40 variants of the Regatta for sale, and since this is a recent model release, I'm assuming in production that spring too. The same 1964 lists show 103 "Bulova 23" variants for that spring. I don't know if these indicate in production that Spring, or if production ceased and Bulova had a large inventory of these 23's they were still distributing (or maybe the Bulova retailers had a large amount of these 23's on stock and Bulova listed the price/model name because of the dealers remaining stock).
I'm undecided on a tentative 23 vs a Regatta. Good thing we have time to discuss and decide.
In rereading this thread, I had incorrectly stated the Regatta 23 didn't come out until 1963. The Fall 1961 Bulova model price list includes six double-letter variants of Regatta 23. There were, most likely, several other variants which are not in the list (for reasons I still don't know).
I'm still unclear on the end date for sales/production of the Bulova 23, although I don't think we have any post 1963 vintage ads for Bulova 23? Earlier in this thread (page 1) there is a 1962 Bulova 23 ad which is similar to this watch (perhaps more similar than the 1964 Regatta 23 ad above), but it looks like it's a matter of when the watch was made.
Two ticks for Regatta 23 as published.
